George's Death Scene

In George's death scenes he is following his paper boat down the road while it is raining out. Everything was fine until it went down a storm drain. He goes to see if he can find it and he is greeted with Pennywise the Dancing Clown. They talk about the circus and popcorn very creepy stuff. Then Pennywise acts like he is going to give George the boat. He reaches for it and the Pennywise bites his arm off and takes him into the storm drain. The scene ends with a lady who sees the blood and rushes inside.

So things I realized in this scene. Im not really sure why they did this maybe an editing mistake but randomly Pennywise's eyes would change from yellow to blue. In the beginning when he first appears he has yellow eyes they they switch to George then when they switch back his eyes were blue. Then when Pennywise bites his arm his eyes are yellow again. I don't know if this was a mistake but it kind of was scary to see the different eye colors. It just added a creepy effect to the scene. The camera angles were also very good the switching between them talking was very well made and had a very high definition of details that are hard to make. This scene was just so eery that even if it wasn't it scary it could have still seemed it. This was a great scene but as great as it was it was still scary and very good. Im never going to look at the scene the same just because of what I know about it.

Cinema Critique

I watched the movie Hoops. This was a movie was about two teams and their journey to Selection Sunday. Selection Sunday is the Sunday where they pick teams to compete in the NCAA. The two teams that the movie followed and there journey there was Notre Dame and Maryland. They both started off there season good and bad. They had a win then a lose, but as the season went on they both started to do great. They were winning by a lot and even by nail biters. Then the tournament of the CAA came around. The teams played great but one played better than the other. This movie really showed about teamwork and how much your team is your family. It showed you should be thankful for the team you have and not get down on yourselves if something bad happens. There was one mistake in this movie I saw a lot. It was the rule of thirds being broken, whenever someone would get interviewed. Let’s say someone was standing on the left side of the screen, they were looking out of the frame and not into it while they were talking. At first I thought it was an accident in the film but it happened a lot and I just knew instantly something was wrong. There was one thing I really found cool about the camera work. It was how the camera would shake like someone was holding it, which they were. They had one shot unlike other movies where you can redo it as many times as you want, you don’t get that with a documentary you have one shot and you can't miss out on getting what you want in your film. This was a great movie even if you don’t like basketball. I recommend it to everyone.
